Airplanes - B.o.B. Ft. Hayley (Paramore) (Tyler Ward Acoustic Cover) - M...

Another nice song i discovered from Facebook..(: hehe.. just love the lyrics.. Enjoy..xD

[Chorus - Hayley Williams]
Can we pretend that airplanes
In the night sky
Are like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now (wish right now, wish right now)
Can we pretend that airplanes
In the night sky
Are like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now (wish right now, wish right now)

[Verse 1 - B.o.B]
Yeah
I could use a dream or a genie or a wish
To go back to a place much simpler than this
Cause after all the partyin’ and smashin’ and crashin’
And all the glitz and the glam and the fashion
And all the pandemonium and all the madness
There comes a time where you fade to the blackness
And when you’re staring at that phone in your lap
And you hoping but them people never call you back
But that’s just how the story unfolds
You get another hand soon after you fold
And when your plans unravel
And they sayin’ what would you wish for
If you had one chance
So airplane airplane sorry I’m late
I’m on my way so don’t close that gate
If I don’t make that then I’ll switch my flight
And I’ll be right back at it by the end of the night

[Chorus - Hayley Williams]

[Verse 2 - B.o.B]
Somebody take me back to the days
Before this was a job, before I got paid
Before it ever mattered what I had in my bank
Yeah back when I was tryin’ to get a tip at subway
lyrics courtesy of www.killerhiphop.com
And back when I was rappin’ for the hell of it
But now a days we rappin’ to stay relevant
I’m guessin that if we can make some wishes outta airplanes
Then maybe yo maybe I’ll go back to the days
Before the politics that we call the rap game
And back when ain’t nobody listened to my mix tape
And back before I tried to cover up my slang
But this is for Decatur, what’s up Bobby Ray
So can I get a wish to end the politics
And get back to the music that started this sh-t
So here I stand and then again I say
I’m hopin’ we can make some wishes outta airplanes
[Chorus]

Vesakha Day

Vesākha is an annual holiday observed traditionally byBuddhists in the South Asianand South East Asian countries ofNepal, Singapore, Vietnam,Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia,Sri Lanka,Myanmar,Bangladesh, Indonesia andIndia. Sometimes informally called "Buddha's Birthday," it actually encompasses the birth, enlightenment (Nirvana), and passing away (Parinirvana) ofGautama Buddha.

The exact date of Vesākha varies according to the various lunar calendars used in different traditions. In Theravada countries following the Buddhist calendar, it falls on the full moon Uposatha day (typically the 5th or 6th lunar month). Vesākha Day in China is on the eighth of the fourth month in theChinese lunar calendar. The date varies from year to year in the WesternGregorian calendar but falls in April or May.

In 2010 the first full moon day in May is the twenty-seventh. However, Myanmar and Cambodia observe the event this year on April 28, 2010.

This Friday is our Malaysia Wesak Day, but did you know how about the celebration in Japan, Sri Lanka and vietnam??Now let us find out some activities that they celebrated.

In Japan

In Japan, Vesākha orhanamatsuri (花祭) is also known as: Kanbutsu-e (灌仏会),Goutan-e (降誕会),Busshou-e(仏生会), Yokubutsu-e (浴仏会),Ryuge-e (龍華会),Hana-eshiki(花会式). It is not a public holiday. It is based on a legend that a dragon appeared in the sky on his birthday and pouredsoma over him.

It used to be celebrated on the 8th day of the fourth month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, based on one of the legends that proclaims the day as Buddha's birthday. At present, the celebration is observed on April 8 of the Solar Calendar since the Meiji governmentadopted the western solar calendar as the official calendar. Since the 8th day of the fourth month in the lunar calendar commonly falls in May of the current solar calendar, it is now celebrated about a month earlier.

In Japan, the general populace are not practicing Buddhists (and may be called casual Buddhists), so most Buddhist temples provide a way to allow the general public to celebrate and participate in only the aspect of the day being Buddha's birthday, providing the statue of baby Buddha and allowing the populace to worship or pay respect by pouring ama cha, a tea made ofHydrangea. In Buddhist temples, monasteries and nunneries, more involved ceremonies are conducted for practicing Buddhists, priests, monks and nuns. Also, there are public festivals made out of the day in some areas.

Vesak in Sri Lanka

A Vesak pandol ortoranain Colombo, Sri Lanka

Vesak is celebrated as a religious and a cultural festival in Sri Lanka on the full moon of the month of May, for a duration of one week. During this week, the selling of alcohol and flesh is usually prohibited, with abattoirs also being closed. Celebrations include various religious and alms giving activities. Electrically lit pandols calledtoranas are erected in various locations in Colombo and elsewhere, most sponsored by donors, religious societies and welfare groups. Each pandol illustrates a story from the 550Jataka Katha or the 550 Past Life Stories of the Buddha. In addition, colourful lanterns called Vesak koodu are hung along streets and in front of homes. They signify the light of the Buddha, Dharma and the Sangha. Food stalls set up by Buddhist devotees calleddansälas provide free food and drinks to passersby. Groups of people from various community organisations, businesses and government departments singbhakti gee or Buddhist devotional songs. Colombo experiences a massive influx of public from all parts of the country during this week.

In Vietnam

In 1963, the South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem, a Catholic and younger brother of Archbishop Ngo Dinh Thucbanned the flying of theBuddhist flag. This led to a demonstration and flag-waving in defiance of the ban. Diem's forces opened fire on the Buddhist crowd, killing nine, sparking the Buddhist crisis, a period of civil disobedience against religious discrimination.

Dashboard Confessional - Belle of the Boulevard

This is a song introduced by a friend of mine and think it's a very nice song. But somehow i cant upload the video here so i guess i'll place the link here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOE4CX3BNBM.. ENJOY..xD

Down in a local bar
Out on the Boulevard
The sound of an old guitar
Is saving you from sinking
It's a long way down, It's a long way

Back like you never broke
You tell a dirty joke
He touches your leg
And thinks He's getting close
For now you let him
Just this once
Just for now
And just like that
It's over.

[Chorus]
Don't turn away
Dry your eyes, dry your eyes
Don't be afraid
But keep it all inside, all inside
When you fall apart
Dry your eyes, dry your eyes
Life is always hard
For the Belle of the Boulevard

In all your silver rings
In all your silken things
That song you softly sing
Is keeping you from breaking
It's a long way down, it's a long way

Back here you never lost
You shake the shivers off
You take a drink
To get your courage up
Can you believe it?
Just this once
Just for now
And just like that
It's over

[Chorus]
Don't turn away
Dry your eyes, dry your eyes
Don't be afraid
But keep it all inside, all inside
When you fall apart
Dry your eyes, dry your eyes
Life is always hard
For the Belle of the Boulevard

Please hold on, it's alright
Please hold on, it's alright
Please hold on

Down in a local bar
Out on the boulevard
The sound of an old guitar
Is saving you

[Chorus]
Don't turn away
Dry your eyes, dry you eyes
Don't be afraid
Keep it all inside, all inside
When you fall apart
Dry your eyes, dry your eyes
Life is always hard
For the Belle of the Boulevard

Quantity Surveyor VS Architect

What is the different between Quantity Surveyor and Architect??
My friend told me,
Quantity Surveyor=SYM-->Snatch Your Money
Architect=WYM-->Waste Your Money
xD
Do you think so??
In my opinion, Qs is calculate; Architect is draw.
Now, let us to more understand what is between these two.

Quantity Surveyor

A quantity surveyor (QS) is a professional working within the construction industry concerned with building costs.

The profession is one that provides a qualification gained following formal education, specific training and experience that provides a general set of skills that are then applied to a diverse variety of problems. Predominantly these relate to costs and contracts on construction projects. Other areas in which QS find employment include property surveys for hidden defects on behalf of potential purchasers, running estates, valuing the mineral deposits for mining companies, selling property and even Leasehold Reform Act work.

There are around 75,000 professional QSs working in the UK.

Architect

An architect is a person trained in the planning, design and oversight of the construction of buildings, and is licensed to practice architecture. To practice architecture means to offer or render services in connection with the design and construction of a building, or group of buildings and the space within the site surrounding the buildings, that have as their principal purpose human occupancy or use.Etymologically, architect derives from the Latinarchitectus, itself derived from the Greekarkhitekton (arkhi-, chief +tekton, builder), i.e. chief builder.

Professionally, an architect's decisions affect public safety, and thus an architect must undergo specialized training consisting of advanced education and a practicum(or internship) for practical experience to earn a license to practice architecture. The practical, technical, and academic requirements for becoming an architect vary by jurisdiction.

The terms architect andarchitecture are also used in the disciplines ofinformation technology (for example a software architect), naval architecture andlandscape architecture. In most of the world's jurisdictions, the professional and commercial uses of the term "architect", outside of the etymologic variants noted, is legally protected.

1st semester is almost finish, is the time to choose what I want to study for my future. But still can't make a decision between these.Architect or Quality Surveyor??

I still thinking!

Chief and Culinary Art??

That's impossible let me change to.

Happy Holidays!!xD

SHANGHAI expo 2010

Really wish i can go to this shanghai expo 2010 as i heard it is extraordinary this year.xD
I love Poland Pavilion the most out of the other pavilions although each of them are unique in their way.

The Poland Pavilion is compsed of three concepts: Human, creativity and the city. As a perfect examle of the Polish architecture, it mirrors the combination of modernity and folk art, representing the creativity and imaginatin of Poland.
The design of the Poland Pavilion, appearing to be a folded paper box, is inspired by its folk art: paper cut-outs. During daytime, the exhibition hall will be filled with light filtering through paper-cutting patterns; at night, it will shine with different colors and leave a deep impression on its visitors.

Pavilion Highlights-

Highlight 1: Irregular Exterior Covered with Flowery Cut-outs

The Poland Pavilion has an abstract and irregular exterior covered with flowery cut-outs designed to reflect Polish folk art (paper cut-outs). Sunlight can enter the hall through cracks in the walls. When dusk falls, the pavilion will shine with different colors that will change as the light outside changes and penetrates the paper-cutting designs.

Highlight 2: Flexible Exhibition Area

In addition to the folded "paper cut-out panel", the pavilion will also create geometrical structures inside. The exhibition area is creative and flexible enough to be divided into several sections for small expositions, concerts and shops. Lighting in the main exhibition hall will create rich lighting effects while the inner walls can be used to project a film about the Polish social life. People-friendly designs and facilities are everywhere in the pavilion

Highlight 3: Piano Concert on Chopin

The year 2010 will be the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederic Chopin, one of the greatest composers and pianists of Poland. A piano concert on Chopin will be held each day in the center square and music hall of the pavilion to commemorate the Polish musician. Visitors will be able to enjoy the concert while tasting traditional Polish cuisine.

Highlight 4: Eco-friendly design

It will also be a "green" pavilion saving energy to the fullest extent, and protecting the environment by pollution abatement so as to provide visitors with a healthy, comfortable and highly efficient pavillion.

Don u Think it's a BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!xD
