The street cafe

I found out a Korean restaurant in Sunway Pyramid and it was mama mia. The owner of this cafe is a korean woman. Although she cant communicate with her customers but she serves her customer with a friendly smile and simple English. She even taught me how to eat kimchi along wit the miso soup.(:

This is bibimbap that literally means 'mixed rice'. Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with different kinds of vegetables and chili pepper paste. But to suit the taste bud of the Malaysian they even serve this dish with one kind of beef sauce that is not spicy. This Burbogi Beef Rice is my favourite dish..xD

IPOD is DEAD

So do we bury our iPods six feet underground now? Not quite, but as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak mentioned, “the iPod would go the way of the transistor radio and Walkman, becoming a cheap and eventually boring commodity product.”

You see, the world has no use for single functioning devices anymore as they’re boring and not even worth their price anymore since they only do one thing and nothing else. Today, it’s all about integration, innovation, inflation and…uhh…gesticulation! We want to hold a personal computer or a Mac in the palm of our hand. We love being able to surf the net(facebook), text our mother’s and listen to music all at once while riding the subway. The world is getting faster, more efficient, and so we demand immediate gratification more and more.

The same trend can also be seen in other electronic devices. Take a look at the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Not only can you play games, but you can also watch movies or television shows, surf the internet, listen to music, etc. Something tells me that this is all just the beginning, and that the future is “painted with colors that my ancient eyes cannot see.” I remember the Wall.E, when mankind is reduced to indolent fat turds who never even bother standing up, since they all have “multifunctioning” chairs. And so I can’t help but think that it’s life imitating art.

BOYS' BRIGADE MALAYSIA

Hi,everyone,do you join any uniform unit when you are in secondary school or primary??For instance Scouts, St.John ambulance, Pandu Puteri or Boys' Brigade??If you answer is not, it's too bad.Because uniform unit will bring us a lot of fun, teaching, and memories. But commonly people will ask what is BOYS' BRIGADE??I always think why Boys Brigade is the world's first uniform organisation, but many of Malaysian don't know what is that?! OMG!!What happening of it??Oppsss~I just realize we are live in unfair country-MALAYSIA!PM us say Malaysia is a Negara Agama Islam.Oh My Lady Gaga!!Why I will say like this?Because Boys' Brigade is a uniform unit which have a Christian background.Do you think our government will give this have a Christian background uniform unit active in Malaysia??NO!!It's impossible!
Okay,by others, we stop talking this topic. At first, I like to share a History of Boys' Brigade to yours.

BB History

"Mom... quick! I have a remarkable story to tell..." as the excited young Boy came rushing to the kitchen to find his mother. Indeed, who would ever say the 'story' of the Boys' Brigade is not remarkable. Just look at how it grew into a big family... spreading around the world. It is the world's first uniform organisation, even before the Scouts!

The Beginning...

It all began on the 4th of October 1883 by a teacher who was at that time, William Alexander Smith, in Glasgow, the land of the Scots. He served as a Lieutenant with the volunteers on Saturday afternoons. William Smith shared his ideas with his two friends, which later invited boys from North Woodside Mission Sabbath School and formed the first company of The Boys' Brigade, 1st Glasgow Company. Hmmnn... why let me spoil the whole story? You can find a more interesting and detail account of the how the Boys' Brigade evolved during its early years from the BBUK website.

The Founder

William Smith was born in Thurso, Scotland in 1854. He moved to Glasgow in his teens and became involved in church activities. As mentioned above, William Smith was a Lieutenant in the 1st Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers in 1883 while he was teaching in the North Woodside Mission Sunday School. He brought the idea and methods used in the volunteers across to his Sunday school boys and formed The Boys' Brigade.

William Smith was the first Brigade Secretary in 1887 where he worked towards spreading the Brigade across the world. In 1909, King Edward VII knighted William Smith for his contribution towards youth development. Five years later, Sir William Alexander Smith passed away. Throughout his lifetime, Sir William A. Smith poured out all that he has into BB and he is best remembered as the man who spells Boy with a capital 'B'.

The object of the Boys' Brigade is...

...the advancement of Christ's Kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self-respect and all that tend towards a true Christian manliness.

A Big Family

The Boys' Brigade organisation had spread around the world to over 60 countries where almost half of the strength is outside the United Kingdom. In 1963, at a meeting in Dundee, Scotland, the World Conference of the Boys' Brigade was formed. The World Conference is a family of Christian Youth Organizations, which grew out of the international work of The Boys' Brigade founded in Scotland in 1883. Find out more about the World Conference excerpt from the BB Handbook.

I join Boys Brigade when I in form1 instigate by my sister in form4.She is the vice chairman of Boys' Brigade in my school. In the first year I feel very bored and lazy to go meeting at every Saturday morning, because we need to practice and learn different type of drill, song, knot as well as theory. But step by step I become more active in all the activities. Finally I very honor promoted to Staff Sergeant by my Officer and Captain.(I not try to show off ya!!xD)

I felt happy and lucky can join Boys' Brigade when I was young.I don't think this is waste many time to participate somethings activities or camps.Maybe have some people or parents thinks join uniform unit is wasting time and abandoned their studies, but I dun think so.It can get and learn many different type of knowledge which you can't learn from school teaching.Beside that you are able to get different experience. Thanks to God and Bless 3rd manjung.

Malaysia Mamak

A mamak stall, also referred to as mapley, is a food establishment which serves mamak food. In Malaysia, the term mamak refers to Tamil Muslims, who generally own and operate them. Although traditionally operated from roadside stalls, some modern mamak stall operators have expanded their businesses into restaurant or cafe-type establishments. Mamak stalls tend to be popular among Malaysian youths as hang out spots, due to cheap food and beverages being served 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

People of all races, religions and ages frequent mamak stalls to gossip or catch a late-night football game while enjoying a cup of hot teh tarik. No other eatery has quite as much cultural significance in Malaysia, save for the kopi tiam.

At here, I like to share a funny video about the mamak to yours. This video I watching when I at form3.I believe most of you already watched this video.NO PORK!!!xD

ENJOY IT!!

Are you still laughing there??Okay..give you a second to stop it!xD
After watching the video we need to know the history about the Malaysia mamak stall our Malaysia culture.

The Malaysian Mamak (commonly known as Mamak) are Tamil Muslims of Malaysian nationality, whose forefathers mostly migrated from South India to the Malay Peninsula and various locations in Southeast Asia centuries ago. They are regarded as part of the Malaysian Indian community. Indian Muslims were believed to first arrive at Samudera (now Aceh in Sumatra, Indonesia) back in the early 10th century, and later settled down in Peninsular Malaysia. Although the origins of the word are perfectly benign, it is often used as a derogatory term for the Indian Muslim community in Malaysia.

The word 'Mamak' is from the Tamil term for maternal uncle, or 'maa-ma'. In the context of Singapore and Malaysia, children of all ethnic groups are taught to refer to adult neighbours, shopkeepers and even strangers as 'uncle' and 'auntie', as a form of respect for and deference towards elders. This term is used even though the adult may not be a member of the child's family, clan or even ethnic group/'race'. The origin of the term 'mamak stall' is likely from the practice of children addressing the shopkeeper as 'uncle', or 'mamak', in his native Tamil language, as a form of respect when interacting with him, and patronising his shop.

Mamak stalls and Hindu stalls are alike except the Mamaks, who are Muslims, do not serve pork, whereas the Hindus do not serve beef (in addition to pork). There are also similar stalls run by local Malays, which are not to be confused with the Mamak.

Newer mamak stalls have more of a cafe aspect, being well lit and furnished with stainless steel tables. Some are outfitted with large flat screen televisions, or even projectors, so that patrons can catch the latest programs or live football (soccer) matches as they dine. Some mamak stalls also provide free wi-fi service. Interestingly, most modern mamak stalls attempt to retain the charm of open air dining of its predecessors by setting up tables on a patio, the shoplot's walkway or even on the street. Nevertheless, all mamak stalls provide a casual ambiance and affordable food to locals who need a place to unwind or socialise.

Display song

Today i told samson that i place a playlist on our blog and asked him what songs he wants to put.
And he requested for smooth criminal by Michael Jackson and he asked if the player can add in more songs and i answered him yes what song do you want. He said NEGARAKU. We argued for a while cause i thought it's weird to put this song in the playlist but he insisted and says: 'ada...mana ada orang mau put negaraku??this already show that we are different from others then it shows we are really CREATIVE.' I have nothing to say so i guess i'll put this song in the playlist.
